MY APARTMENT I moved into the Hardy Building in July of 2001, after falling instantly in love with the location, the character of the building and apartment, and the option to paint. In some mental master plan, I picked out the furniture during a trip to Baltimore in late June (it wouldn't be purchased for another nine months) and then chose the colors based on that. There are a myriad of stories regarding the apartment. The trendy cable lighting was no mean feat (just ask my television) and the green of the living room will accent a crotch rather nicely. I live in the Haymarket district of downtown Lincoln. Approximately 10 years ago, a blighted downtown was renovated into an upscale living and shopping district. I am within walking distance of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln's city campus, across the street from the Post Office, and five minutes away from some great restaurants and bars. The Brazen Head is my favorite hangout for a Thursday ($5 cover, $1 anything), and it's on my block. At the end, you will find pictures of my Christmas tree. I'm rather proud of it - don't you think it looks nice? And, then ther're BIRD SPIKES!!! That's right, I've finallly triumphed over the winged pests that plague my window every morning. Check it out on the Bird Spike Page! All of the pictures contained on this page and in the resulting popup windows are Copyright © 2003. Scott Rieker. All Rights Reserved.
