PARTING SHOTS I thought I would end my summer Boston adventure with a couple of things that always struck me, and that I finally shot in a picture. The first is a sign along the VFW Parkway in Boston, where I worked. I had to drive past this incredibly frustrating sign twice a day. Really, what kind of moron traffic engineer things that impeding traffic flow is a good idea - so go of an idea that it must be explained. Every year, TEP (Tau Epsilon Phi) takes pictures of its members and combines them into a composite. In the beginning, they were calm, respectable pictures of young men in ties and jackets. In the 60's and 70's, hair grew longer and clothes more casual. Then, people tried to be funny. Now, there are naked people (artfully covered, of course), melted candles, and a person in a gorilla suit. The picture included here is from the 1994 composite. I saw it every time I ascended the stairs, and I always got a chuckle. All of the pictures contained on this page and in the resulting popup windows are Copyright © 2003. Scott Rieker.
